Barcelona Tapas and Wine Bar

449 Bowen Trunk Road, Bowen Island, BC

A Spanish inspired tapas place on Bowen Island.

After an aborted attempt at a long hike to find the Mastodon, we headed to the Cove for lunch at Barcelona.

A vegetable stew with lamb merguez sausage and local Bowen Island egg on top, plus fresh local bread and a little salad.

These eggplants were a side dish. Lightly deep fried then drizzled with honey, mint, and salt. Some of the best eggplant I’ve ever had.

Dad had the prawns, mom had tortilla (aka potato / omelette dish), and R had a “Hot Dog” made with chorizo and onions on baguette. The hot dog wasn’t very tasty, everything else was good.

I had a Four Winds Saison, my parents split a tall can of Inedit Damm, and R had lemonade.

We had a little run in with the owner after we moved tables to get out of the sun. I’m sure he was grumpy dealing with hordes of tourists, but it wasn’t a great experience.
