Fruux - hosted contacts, calendar, & tasks

Fruux is a hosted contacts, calendar, and tasks service that you can run as an individual or as a team.

I’ve been running the free personal version because it let me sync / backup my iOS contacts directly, without having to go through Google. And, you can set the contact server as the default in iOS, meaning that when you add phone numbers or other addresses, it creates & syncs directly to these contacts that I control.

I’m (again) looking at open source based tools as part of thinking about how my usage and support of different systems should align with what I want to see in the world.

The team behind Fruux lead development on sabre/dav, the most popular implementation of CardDAV and CalDAV sync standards.
